Fig Syrup Recipe
We worked with recipe developer and cookbook author, Lindsay Landis of Love and Olive Oil. She will show you how easy it is to make syrup from scratch. The hardest part will be finding and deciding on the right jar or vessel to use. A pretty ribbon or bow completes the gift.
Another question to ask yourself is what kind of flavor profile you’re most interested in achieving. Our Mission Dried Figs will give you that familiar deeply figgy taste that’s reminiscent of your favorite childhood chewy cookie with figgy center. Golden Dried Figs bring more of a subtle flavor that’s both slightly nutty, delicately sweet, and somewhat tangy.
Ideas for How to Use It
Swap in fig syrup instead of maple syrup for pancakes. It brings a deeply fruity flavor to breakfast. It might seem a little unorthodox but then again maple flavored coffee creamer is sold as a stand-alone flavor. We have a recipe for making fig coffee creamer here should you decide you’d like to make a festive flavor to serve with a holiday breakfast. Other ideas for the fig syrup: swirl it into plain yogurt, drizzled on toast—so good with nut butter… or possibly even in fig beer.

Now, should you find you are in need of greater quantities of fig syrup, we sell Fig Concentrate by the gallon, as well as Date Concentrate, Prune Concentrate, and Raisin Concentrate.
