My current favorite fig & cocoa recipe is simple if you have a food processor: pile figs, cocoa powder, a few dates, a good glug of vanilla extract or the seeds of some vanilla beans, walnuts, a pinch of salt, and some almonds in the bowl of the processor. Pulse to chop until it holds together like wet sand. Stir in some chopped walnuts. Press into a parchment-lined pan, chill, then break or cut into petite brownie-sized portions. Store in fridge or freezer and nosh a chunk for dessert. It is delicious!

  2. I actually don’t know how it’s possible that I’ve never tried a dish with figs + cocoa before… but I love the look of the California Fig Chocolate Babka recipe posted on this site!
